Abilene itself spans parts of Taylor County and Jones County, and most private wells in the area are on acreage just outside the city limits, on ranch land, and in subdivisions where homes aren't on city water. If you're building outside town, replacing an older well, or buying a place with a well already on it, we can connect you with local, licensed drillers and pump installers.
Inside vs. outside the city limits
If your property is inside Abilene's city limits, check with the City about any local rules before planning a new well. For property in Taylor County, the Taylor County Groundwater Conservation District has registration and permitting rules for new wells. Properties north of town may be in Jones County, so confirm which county and district apply to your parcel. Your driller can usually help with this.
Look up nearby wells first
Well depth and yield can change a lot from one side of Abilene to the other. The Texas Water Development Board's free Groundwater Data Viewer shows well reports near any address. It's a good way to see how deep your neighbors had to go before you request quotes.
We're a referral service, not a drilling contractor. Work is performed by independent, licensed providers.
